Richard Knowles

Richards automotive career started at age 18 with an Automotive Technician pre-trade course. This led to an apprenticeship at Blackwell Holden HSV and then a Technician at Christchurch BMW before starting his motorsport career at Autotek engineering and running NZV8 Touring cars. He then moved to DCH Motorsport and purchased the business in 2003 from company owner Dennis Chapman who is still a valued friend and loyal customer. Richards work history covers Classic and Endurance racing with BMW Super Tourers, F5000, Formula Ford, Rallying and Targa NZ. His wealth of experience also includes Bathurst and Nurburgring 24Hr racing, the Mini Challenge Championship and currently 3x Utes in the NZV8 Ute Championship. When not working or spending time with wife Paula and 3x children Richard’s other interests include Off-road racing, Motocross and Jet Ski racing.

Dave Read

Dave is the most recent addition to the DCH Motorsport staff bringing 20 years experience in the Automotive industry. He has come to us from George Stocks and specialising in suspension sales and development, both race and road car. He also brings Engineering/fabrication, Import and export sales, and workshop management skills to our team. His motorsport experience includes building and developing a NZ championship winning Mitsubishi Lancer EVO-1 for Timaru’s Carl Vaughan.  More recently assisting the build and development of the South Islands first PRO7 Plus Series6 Rx7, which finished 2nd in 2007 NZ Championship with driver Shane Paget. Dave will be taking over all Raceparts sales and workshop services.

 

Graeme Clyde

Graeme is a qualified fitter and turner by trade with a lifetime
dedicated to motorsport here and overseas. His work history includes time at the Ralt factory in England in the early 1970’s and moving on to German Formula 2 and 3 with Euro Championship winning team Bertram Schafer Racing. Time at Schafer also included a Championship of makes title with a GP5 BMW and Porsche 935.
He has also raced karts here and in Australia for 9yrs and then moved on to classic car racing in the ex Tony Longhurst JPS E30 BMW. He is now the proud co-owner of the ex Baird and Riley E36 BMW NZ Touring cars from the late 90’s. Graeme has recently moved to DCH Motorsport after sucssessfully running his own business German Auto Components since 1992 and is a highly respected and valuable member of the DCH team.
